February, 2012

February was a disappointing month for the free Value Play system producing it's first monthly loss ($32.50) since I began tracking on this site (August 2011). We only cashed 4 win tickets out of 24 opportunities for a 16.67% cash rate versus the overall average of 21.03%. The average winning ticket cashed was only $8.30 verses the overall average of $14.92. The largest winning ticket occurred on February 25th when White Merlot won the 8th at Tampa Bay and returned $14.80.

Cashed tickets for place betting were right on the overall average of 41.63%. During February the system produced 24 place betting opportunities and we won 10 of them for a 41.67% cash rate. The average winning ticket cashed was only $4.60 compared to $5.72 overall. The highest place ticket cashed was on February 8th at Turf Paradise. Thunder Ali placed in third race returning $7.20. 9 out of the 10 winning place bets were below the $5.72 overall average.

The free horse racing system produced 3 exacta victories in February for an average ticket of $17.93, significantly below the overall average of $29.75. Exactas hit at a 12.5% rate for the month. The largest exacta paid $23.60 hit on the last day of the month at Delta Downs.
